Terms of Service
Last updated: September 3, 2026
These Terms govern your use of WriteSignal, operated by [Legal Entity Name]. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
The service
WriteSignal provides interpretable writing analysis: an AI-style detector, an inspector for hidden characters, and AI-assisted proofreading, rewriting, humanizing and grading. Detection results are probabilistic style signals, not proof that text was AI-generated, and must never be used as the sole basis for an academic-integrity or disciplinary decision.
Accounts
You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or use the service under an institutional agreement.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: submit content you have no right to submit; attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits or authentication; probe, scrape or overload the service; or use it to harass, defame, or harm others. We enforce per-user rate limits and may suspend accounts that abuse the service or run up disproportionate cost.
Plans, billing & quotas
Free accounts include a limited number of analyses per month; Pro and Campus plans unlock the AI assistant and higher limits. Prices and quotas are shown on the Pricing page and may change with notice. Institutional plans are governed by a separate order form and data processing agreement.
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the service (including sending it to our AI sub-processors to generate results, as described in the Privacy Policy). We do not claim ownership of your writing and do not use it to train our own models.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". AI output and detection scores can be wrong; you are responsible for reviewing results before relying on them. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. [Confirm limitation figures and carve-outs with counsel.]
Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. Certain provisions survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability).
Changes & contact
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-product or by email. Questions: [legal@your-domain]. Governing law: [jurisdiction].
